On 3 April 2020 and in agreement with the President of the Government of Catalonia, the Catalan Minister of Business and Knowledge and the rectors of the other Catalan universities, the Rector of the Universitat de Barcelona decided to suspend all second-semester face-to-face teaching activities until the end of the academic year. For this reason, our university's teaching staff may need to make certain changes to the course plans of the subjects they teach, so that they can teach subjects online. When and where such changes are made, they will be explained in a new appendix attached to the end of the original course plan.

Teaching methods and general organization

 


1.      Classroom Sessions:

-    Lectures (26 hours): After some introductory sessions covering some fundamental topics, the sessions will deal with recent research of several scientists, and will be focused on the critical interpretation of the results.

-    Oral presentations (4 hours): Oral presentation of about 10 minutes of a selected research topic by the students.

2.      Students individual and/or group work:

-    Tasks to develop: Search for complementary information regarding the research topics explained during the classes. To this end, scientific databases and specific web sites must be consulted. Hours of activity: 35 hours.

-    Complementary work by the student: The hours of complementary work based on the classes will be reduced proportionately to the hours spent in “Tasks to develop”. Hours of activity: 40 hours.

Evaluation Procedures:

- Assistance, participation and interactivity in the classroom (15%)

- Report from specific Seminars (20%)

- Development of a specific topic and oral presentation (65%)

 

 

Examination-based assessment

Students need to communicate to the coordinator the preference for a unique examination after the first week. The exam will present 25 questions in the format of multiple choice test.
Re-evaluation: Students trying to have an upgrade, can opt to a unique examination. The exam will present 25 questions in the format of multiple choice test.

El programa de l’assignatura es manté: no hi ha variació de continguts.


 

Metodologia i activitats formatives:

Els continguts de teoria estan disponibles on line en format vídeo, i generalment es complementen amb una sèrie d’articles científics, tant de recerca com de revisió. La resolució de dubtes es fa a nivell particular amb cada alumne que ho sol·licita a través de correu electrònic o connexió telemàtica.

Les presentacions dels treballs es faran on line de manera asíncrona.



 

Avaluació acreditativa dels aprenentatges:

 

L’avaluació continuada ha hagut de variar, ja que hi havia un percentatge de la nota que corresponia a l’assistència a classe.

Es fan 5 preguntes de cada una de les lliçons, que corresponen al 40% de la nota. El 60% restant correspon al treball final.
