Referring to knowledge

To pass the course, students must demonstrate an ability to do the following:
    1. Plan and structure an academic paper.
    2. Use the formal writing style established by the Faculty.
    3. Identify different specialist texts.
    4. Describe the main ideas in specialist texts and analyse and summarise their content in conceptual diagrams.
    5. Write formal abstracts.
    6. Write formal introductions to assignments, including all the information considered relevant.
    7. Write the ’Conclusions’ section of an academic paper.
    8. Make correct use of footnotes and endnotes.
    9. Write citations using institutional style guides.
    10. Write bibliographical references and the ’Works Cited’ sections of academic papers using institutional style guides.
    11. Identify and use reliable academic sources.
    12. Give a visual presentation.
    13. Express ideas precisely and effectively.
    14. Produce texts that are free of spelling, grammar and vocabulary errors.
    15. Avoid plagiarism and copying.
