b) Specific legal problems in cross-border business transactions
1.2. International sale of goods
a) Legal framework: interaction between legal sources
b) Principles of contract law
c) Commercial usages and contractual practices
d) Regulation 593/2008 on the law applicable to contractual obligations
e) The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (1980)
1.3. Mechanisms for dispute resolution
a) Definition and typology
b) Legal framework of international jurisdiction
c) Legal framework of international commercial arbitration
d) Introduction to alternative dispute resolution
2. Practical operations in international business
This part may cover any of the following legal aspects:
a) International sale of goods contract
b) International transport of goods
c) International dispute resolution
d) International commercial agency contract

Teaching methods and general organization |
|
The teaching methodology consists of lectures with a practical component combined with problem-solving exercises based on practical cases. During the course, special attention is paid to case law, mainly concerning the European Court of Justice.

Examination-based assessment The single assessment examination (100%) consists of a problem-solving exercise based on a practical case and short-answer questions.
