Teaching methods and general organization

The teaching methodology is based on the research of information, the completion of a written assignment and the oral defense of it. Face-to-face or on-line tutorial sessions will be held periodically.

The gender perspective will be taken into consideration in the content of the subject.

Official assessment of learning outcomes

Students are assessed by an examination panel on the basis of the written report and an oral defence of the project.

Before the date set for each session, the candidate must submit three hard copies of the TFM and send a PDF version to the Committee. On the day of the deadline for submission, the Master’s Committee meets to determine the panel, the time, and the place of the defense, and this information will be made available on the website.

Prior to the defense, the tutor/supervisor of the paper will submit a report to the Committee on the TFM, comprising his or her evaluation and authorising its presentation.

The act of defense is a public act in which the candidate presents the results of the research activity (approx. 20 minutes) before the panel; following which the members of the panel formulate observations, comments, and questions that the candidate will have to answer.

The members of the panel must take into account the tutor’s report, but the final grade, which is the sum of the scores obtained for the TFM and its oral presentation, is calculated according to a formula and the following weightings:

— oral presentation quality and ability to debate and defend arguments (30%);

— formal and scientific quality of the written paper (technical standard, clarity, and adequacy as a piece of academic writing, coherence, rigour, originality, contribution) (70%);

The final grade is given to each student at the end of the public session.
