Learning objectives

 

Referring to knowledge

— Use the techniques and conceptual framework of forensic taphonomy and anthropology to correctly interpret human remains in outdoor forensic scenes.

— Identify the procedures required to excavate human remains.

— Explain how taphonomic techniques can be used to gain information about the effects observed in outdoor forensic scenes and the agents that produced them.

— Carry out diagnoses of the biological profile in outdoor forensic scenes.

— Identify features that can indicate death from natural causes and from diseases.

— Gather samples for physicochemical and molecular analyses.
